Maranello Wins in KGP at Larkhall Super One!

Denis Gorman, driving the latest kart from Maranello, the RS9-LS, took the chequered flag in the grand final at Larkhall in style. Gorman had been on the pace all weekend, taking third and second places in the heat and pre-final respectively on Sunday after being fifth fastest in Saturday qualifying and also taking third position in heat one. The combination of Gorman and the RS9 LS have been showing great promise since second place in round one at PFI was cruelly snatched from him on the last lap of the grand final after a controversial incident which resulted in a DNF for Denis and a five place penalty for the other driver involved. Thanks go to Chris and Kerian Hogben of CK Motorsport and to Denis’ sponsor, dry lining specialists, www.dryside.co.uk.

Well done also goes to Stephen Philip who despite carburation gremlins achieved his first top ten Super One finish on his new RS9-LS. Well done also goes to long time Maranello Kart pilot Alan Young who came eleventh. Another member of the Young family, Kirsty, is a force to be reckoned with in Formula Blue also on a Maranello.

John Pike also won the Dragon Masters in Snr Max at Glan-Y-Gors in North Wales this weekend after a stressful time in the heats and in the paddock. Well done John and Chris.

The Maranello factory spent last year specifically developing the RS9-LS to suit the latest medium compound tires used in Rotax, KGP, KF3, KZ2, TKM and Formula Blue. To achieve this frame geometry has been tailored to be kind to tires, particularly the fronts while allowing for ease of setup without constantly sacrificing the integrity and alignment of the frame or compromising on the legality and quality of the material used as with other popular kart makes. This is combined with possibly the best brake system on the market, the VEN05 and the highest standards in kart chassis and component manufacturing employed by CRG. Maranello Kart design and develop their own chassis and are committed to providing the best choices in materials, design and manufacture to give the customer a high quality chassis that is satisfying to drive, easy to set up and most importantly, lasts.

The 2011 Maranello RS9 LS is available to test at PF International on any Friday and Saturday test day and at Fulbeck on the third Saturday of the month and the Saturday before the LKRC club meeting at the famous Lincolnshire drivers track.
